By Charles Tisdall Years ago, when I was a student at the European School of Osteopathy, I met someone in mainstream medicine who forever changed my perspective. He worked at a major institute focusing on research and development of heart drugs—a serious operation with a multi-million-pound budget. You’d think he’d rely only on pharmaceutical solutions, but one evening, after a casual run together, he turned to me and said:“There are two things no drug can ever compete with when it comes to heart health: Exercise and Meditation.”That simple statement floored me. Here was a high-level professional—“Big Medicine” personified—admitting that some of the most powerful healing tools are often the simplest and cost virtually nothing. It was my first real glimpse of “Integrated Medicine,” where mainstream treatments and natural approaches work hand in hand.Since then, I’ve come to appreciate just how important it is for our hearts, bodies, and minds to embrace both. Certainly, medications have their place, especially in acute care, but let’s not forget the profound impact of regular movement and a quiet mind. Sometimes, the biggest revelations happen in the simplest moments—like catching our breath after a good run, or settling into silence and noticing how good it feels just to be still.https://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2024/06/22/meditation-alleviates-stress.aspx
