Jane Rowland
COGNITIVE BEHAVIOURAL THERAPIST
MY PRACTICE AND APPROACH
I offer CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) for the treatment of many mental health problems in adults (18+), and am fully accredited by the BABCP (British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies).
Initially, I will assess and formulate a treatment plan according to your specific needs which best supports you and the emotional and psychological challenges you may be facing.
During therapy, I use the evidence-based principles of CBT to help you better understand your thoughts, feelings and behaviours in real-time. This is achieved by learning how to use CBT techniques and strategies in your day-to-day life.
With practice, these tools for life will help you achieve better mental health and wellbeing going forward, and I will guide you in how to use them effectively.
From Feb 2026, I will also be offering EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) as a trainee for PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder). This is a NICE-recommended treatment to help reduce distress from traumatic memories and associated symptoms.

WHAT I AIM TO ACHIEVE IN MY PRACTICE
Whether you're facing anxiety or depression, OCD, phobias, stress, trauma or addiction, navigating significant and distressing life changes – whatever it is you’re facing - I aim to support you in building resilience and understanding yourself more deeply.
My practice is informed by the latest research, but grounded in the uniqueness of your individual story.
I am here to listen with empathy, realism, and acknowledgement of the complexities of human experience. I bring a non-judgemental, compassionate presence, helping you to achieve your therapy goals and create meaningful and lasting change in your life.
Therapy can be face-to-face at Dacrelands clinic, or online if attending in person is sometimes difficult. Outdoor 'walk-and-talk' therapy sessions are also offered in a beautiful north Lancashire location. Please read more about face to face, online and outdoor therapy on my website.
If you are just beginning your journey to better mental health or seeking a new perspective, I'm here to provide the guidance and support you need.
Struggling with poor mental health can take up a lot of our time, deciding that things need to change can be done in an instant.
The first step towards getting somewhere is to decide you’re not going to stay where you are.
