I work with adults and older adults who experience psychological, emotional or cognitive problems. This includes working with people with acute health issues or coping with long term conditions and end of life care/terminal illness and people with dementia, their carers and families.
I use a range of models and approaches to therapy, dependent on the needs and wishes of the client including CBT, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Mindfulness, ACT, CFT and hypnotherapy to treat a range of difficulties including: anxiety, depression, sleep problems, memory problems, stress management, life transitions and adjustment issues, grief and loss.
I have 30 years experience working in NHS mental health services and completed my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Lancaster University.
Clinical Psychologists work with individual clients, couples, families and groups who are experiencing psychological, emotional and behavioural difficulties using a variety of models such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Mindfulness and other evidence based approaches to therapy in order to alleviate distress and help clients better understand and manage their difficulties.
