About us
Dacrelands Clinic of Natural Health
Dacrelands is a Clinic of Natural Health, based in a Georgian building on the outskirts of Lancaster. Founded in 1988, the Clinic has rapidly become established in the community and now has a large team of qualified and registered practitioners. We work either independently or collectively for individual patients, who are encouraged to take a part in the management of their individual treatment programmes.
We provide a variety of written information at the Clinic, which you are welcome to browse through, and which may be sent to you on request. The individual practitioner's leaflets may guide you towards a decision. Our Receptionist is well-informed and experienced in helping people choose their initial consultation, either by personal visit or over the phone. If in doubt, a practitioner will come to the phone or return your call. You are always welcome to make an informal visit to the Clinic for further information and advice.
Our aims:
To promote health by using natural therapies and by drawing on the body's own mechanisms for self healing. To work in co-operation and conjunction with other health providers in the community. To develop a partnership in which the patient may take an active part in the management of his or her own health. To provide, as far as possible, a comprehensive and integrated range of therapies, without recourse to "intrusive" drugs or surgery.
Do you need to be referred by your GP?
No; indeed, the majority of patients arrange their own appointments. However, most local General Practices and many other health providers refer patients to the Clinic. We may ask your permission to contact your doctor should we at any time need to consult or inform him or her about your health. The Clinic has established good relations with the main health providers in and around Lancaster, with access to all the main specialist testing facilities, including pathology, X-ray, MRI scans, blood, urine and bone density.
We also send people for treatment at mineral baths resort in Bulgaria.
The settlement has had the reputation of a balneological resort since the time of the Romans. As early as then the thermal baths attracted people with their curative effect on rheumatic, peripheral vascular, gynaecological, locomotory and other diseases. The mineral water - the most precious natural resource of the region - is hyperthermal (57оС) ad has a unique chemical composition. It flows out of 14 springs with a flow rate of 1 500 l/minute. It is characterized as sulphate-sodium, calcium and fluorine.
The resort specializes in the treatment of diseases of the peripheral arteries of an organic or functional type - obliterating diseases (endoarthrites), obliterating atherosclerosis, Buerger's disease, Raynaud's disease, vegetative and diabetic angiopathies, etc. The resort is acknowledged as the only one in Bulgaria for the treatment of these so widespread diseases, which in recent years affect still more and younger people. The treatment in the resort twice a year is of vital importance to some patients. The water possesses the property of improving the feeding of the tissues of the diseased limb and of removing the venous congestion. With 32 emans of radon in its composition it is unsurpassed in its curative properties not only in Bulgaria, but also abroad. The resort is world-famous mostly for the treatment of the Buerger's disease. This specific disease is successfully treated only in three places in the world besides the Mineralni Bani resort. The mineral water stops the trophic damages; the wounds and the violet-blue colouring disappear. The results are a warm skin, good trophics, and a normal blood circulation. The following diseases are also excellently influenced by the water: acute inflammatory rheumatism, the Sokolsk-Bouyo disease, arthritis, exostoses; diseases of the joints and the bones, post-fracture and post-sprain states, etc.; sclerodermia, radiculites, polyneurites, sciatica, lumbago; chronic inflammatory processes of the ovaries, the uterus, etc.; skin diseases - chronic eczemas, psoriasis, neurodermites, dermatites, chronic urticaria, etc.
The mineral water is drunk for the treatment of renal sand, chronic gastritis and colitis, peptic disease, gastrointestinal diseases, chronic inflammation of the liver, of the biliary tracts, etc.
The cost is 70 pounds per day, that includes everything needed for the stay – 3 meals a day, accomodation, the whole treatment, doctors, physiotherapy, sightseeing. The treatment course lasts 15 days, which is divided like this: 3 days treatment, 1 day rest (sightseeing). Recommended at least once a year, BUT no more than twice a year as the water is very strong. Family and friends of the treated people are welcomed to stay without having treatment, cost then is reduced.

Homeopathy is ideal for pregnant women. HR cannot cause side effects because only a minute amount of the active ingredient is used in their preparation.
