I am a Clinical Psychologist specialising in working with people who have long-term, physical health conditions. My particular area of expertise is pain management. I use a variety of time-limited ‘talking therapies,’ including cognitive-behavioural and mindfulness-based approaches. Psychological therapy can help to improve quality of life and reduce the distress that many people experience when living with chronic pain.
Registered with the Health Care Professions Council, I qualified as a Clinical Psychologist in 1997. I have built up a depth and breadth of experience through working in community and hospital settings in different parts of the UK. In addition to my clinical roles, I have been employed as an Honorary Lecturer at several leading universities, and have been active in training and supervising other health professionals.
I have experience of writing expert witness reports when requested by solicitors, for people with chronic pain who are undertaking a claim following a personal injury.
I offer a highly professional and friendly approach in all aspects of my practice. The services I provide are based on a thorough assessment of the needs of each individual client and, as far as possible, tailored to meet their requirements.
