Biographical Counselling

Midge Whitelegg is a counsellor in biography work. Biographical counselling invites individuals to address the developments, challenges and crises in their life by setting them in the context of their biography, their life story, as a whole. We consider the rhythms, phases and patterns emerging in their life story, and how the challenges met fit into this larger picture.

Through a gradual process of exploring and seeking understanding we aim to see problems as meaningful aspects of biography, as keys to further personal growth and development, from which a person can find new strength and inner resources to meet the future creatively. Biographical counselling aims to help people to find a new relationship to the past, expand the consciousness of the present and make new choices for the future.

Biographical counselling is based on the work of Dr Rudolf Steiner, whose knowledge and insights influence many fields, including medicine, architecture, education, agriculture, the arts and the social realm. His philosophy embraces the concept that every person is a being of body, soul and spirit on a path of personal development.
